»To follow the leadings of one's heart« and »decide on a gut feeling« are expressions known by everyone. They can be of fundamental importance for many decisions that we take in life. It is intuition we talk about. Is it indeed related to feelings or is it something separate, archaic, tracing back to animal instinct? Where science keeps silent, two dancers and one musician try to ground the seventh sense of humans using body and music in dreamlike sequences.
INSINN 7 is the last production of the tripartite case study about the “Circus of Feelings” by HeadFeedHands.

Tango - desire, passion, yearning? - not only that! In its new production HeadFeedHands submerges into the inside experiences of the Tango dancers, questions traditional gender roles and ventures into the abysses between self-presentation and personal feeling. Dance, theatre and contemporary circus are joined in this humorous and profound performance about divaism, loneliness on high heels, milonga phobia and the love of dance. Tango a different way.

A poetic contemporary circus piece about lonely people and happy loners, die-hard couch potatoes, ping-pong solos, group pressure and solidarity. In particular, the focus lies on painful isolation or even social phobia, as well as the necessity of temporary retreats and of a kind of "positive self-will" in aloneness.

STRADA!

Between the old juggling and contemporary circus traditions, with live music and spectacular artistry – an international ensemble with 7 circus artists, actors, dancers and musicians brings their own version of Fellini's classic film "La Strada" to the stage.

STRADA! kidnaps the audience and takes them on a circus journey into the depths of the soul: a crude street juggler discovers love, his naively innocent assistant the big wide world, a widow her desire, and an artist his premature death. The performance unleashes a physically-emotional chaos of feelings that has the audience under its spell right from the start.

Viva la vita! Viva il circo!

The trinational Nouveau Cirque Project is a cooperation of HeadFeedHands with the Swiss company Cirque de Loin www.cirquedeloin.ch and the French company Mauvais Coton www.mauvaiscoton.com.

The project is funded by the Landesverband Freier Theater Baden Württemberg with funds from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research, and the Arts, from the North Rhine-Westphalia Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport, from the Swiss canton of St Gallen, from the Migros “Kulturprozent” Foundation, the “Transfabrik” Foundation (Franco-German fund for the performing arts), from the cultural affairs offices of the cities of Freiburg, Cologne, St. Gallen, and the Rhône-Alpes region, and from the Ernst Göhner Foundation.

HeadFeedHands consistently explores new forms of movement theatre, combining dance and theatre with circus elements. In its inimitable fashion, the company is dedicated to the fundamental issues of human existence, and continues to bring new universes full of artistic melancholy and explosive joy to the stage. With powerful images, gentle poetry and terrific comedy, HeadFeedHands has been enthusing international audiences for ten years.

The company was founded in 2006 by Günter Klingler. Marion Dieterle and Tim Behren later joined the collective, with Klingler taking on artistic direction. Other long-serving members are Emmeran Heringer and Florian Patschovsky. Since 2014, the company is again under the artistic direction of Günter Klingler and works with different international artists and companies.
